Forbes has a really interesting article on recent changes to Google’s search ranking algorithm. Instead of placing more weight on a page that is linked heavily, it places more weight on whether it is “liked” or shared on various social media platforms. Very interesting as the SEO industry has been rapidly built-up with techniques to create large numbers of (often useless, out-of-context) links.
